Washingtonville - June 6, 2007 - Harold A. "Sam" Rohrer, 92, of 155 West Main Street, died at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday at Essex of Salem III.

Mr. Rohrer was born April 9, 1915 in Washingtonville, a son of Samuel and Caroline Brain Rohrer and had lived here all of his life. He served in the US Army in the Pacific during WWII and was employed in the office at the Crane Deming Company in Salem for 34 years, retiring in 1978.

He was a member of the Robbins United Methodist Church, York Drexler Post 5532 VFW, and Joe Williams Post # 131 American Legion, Leetonia. He was a 50 year member of Leetonia Lodge #401 F. & A.M. and was a past master of the lodge.

His wife, the former Twila P. Lederle, whom he married July 25, 1936 died August 12, 2003.

He is survived by a son, Walter (Judy) Rohrer of Washingtonville; two granddaughters, Mrs. Rich (Melanie) Stelts of Leetonia and Mrs. Mark (Colleen) Dattilio of New Waterford; and a great grandson, Nathan Stelts.

Two sisters, Marie Warner and Thelma Fieldhouse are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, with the Reverend Jeffrey Shultz officiating. Burial will follow in Washingtonville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday where Leetonia Lodge will conduct Masonic Services at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
