Harold P. Floor

Harold P. Floor, age 85, died at 7:20 a.m. Monday at the Parkside Health Care Center in Columbiana.

Mr. Floor was born October 7, 1922 in East Palestine, OH a son of Paul and Grace Miller Floor and had lived in this area all of his life.

Harold worked for National Rubber for 27 years retiring in 1985. He also assisted Fred Ward on his farm for many years. He was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, East Palestine and was a volunteer fireman for the New Waterford Fire Department. He also served in the US Army during World War II landing on Omaha Beach in Normandy on D-Day. He was a member of the York Drexler Post #5532 VFW in Washingtonville.

His wife, the former Norma Louise O'Neil, whom he married January 27, 1946 died March 7, 2006.

He is survived by a daughter, Alice (Elmer) Steele of Lisbon; two sons, Wayne E. Floor of East Palestine and Carl E. (Donna) Floor of Pittsburgh, PA; a brother, Wilford (Phyllis) Floor of East Palestine; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

A daughter, Lori Ann Floor and a sister, Mae Grimes are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home with Pastor Mark McTrusty officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens where military honors will be accorded.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
