Guy Michael Laughlin

Petersburg- Guy Michael Laughlin, age 57, of Petersburg, OH, died on Thursday, March 2, 2017 after a hard fought battle at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born on November 12, 1959 in East Liverpool, OH, a son of Donald K. Laughlin and Mary Groves Laughlin.

Guy attended Greenford Christian Church and had worked as an iron worker for 25 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the East Palestine Masonic Lodge #417 F&AM and the East Palestine #381 Order of Eastern Star. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite and belonged to the York Rite, Youngstown. Guy also was a member of the Iron Worker Local 3.

He was an avid hunter and enjoyed both cars and motorcycles. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother, Mary "Peg" Laughlin of Hookstown, PA; his wife, Kathy Jo McCullough Laughlin, whom he married on October 23, 1981; two daughters, Dannielle (Alex) Lathom of Beaver Falls, PA, and Shannon Laughlin of Cary, NC; a son, Shaun Laughlin of Petersburg; a sister, Candy Laughlin of Indiana, PA; three grandchildren, Alex Beight, Ashton Malesky and Ella Lathom. Also surviving are many beloved nieces and nephews.

Guy was preceded in death by his father, and two brothers, Donald and Todd Laughlin.

Masonic and Eastern Star services will begin at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine, OH. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Bush officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in the Petersburg Cemetery.
