Guy Gabriel

Washingtonville- Guy Gabriel, age 80, of Washingtonville, died on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic.

He was born on July 26, 1935 in Leetonia, a son of the late Joseph and Concetta Fionda Gabriel.

Guy had worked for Dan Dee Potato Chips as a chip fryer for 31 years and later for Crestview Schools as maintenance supervisor. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia and belonged to the Sons of the American Legion. Guy was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in his yard.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Spear Gabriel, whom he married on August 25, 1956; a son, Brett (Shari) Gabriel of Washington, PA; a daughter, Pamela Gabriel (Kevin Steurer) of Tallmadge; his twin brother, John Gabriel of Ravenna; two sisters, Carmel Ferry of Leetonia and Mary Marino of Dover; and by four grandchildren, Adam and Kelly Steurer and Brian and Sarah Gabriel.

Guy was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Gabriel, three brothers, Ralph, Eugene and Anthony Gabriel and by two sisters, Ange Hively and Jean Weber.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia.

Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Mount Calvary Cemetery.
