Leetonia-October 24, 2009-Gloria J. Gostey, 67, of 5307 Lisbon-Canfield Road, died at 4:00 a.m. Saturday at the Vista Center in Lisbon.
Mrs. Gostey was born May 17, 1942 in Lisbon, a daughter of James and Mildred "Millie" Taylor Roberts and had lived in this area all of her life.
Gloria was a baker for many years for various area grocery stores including Hillyer's in Lisbon and Sparkle in Columbiana. She was a Cleveland Browns and Indians fan and she loved the outdoors and camping.
She is survived by her husband, Richard J. Gostey, whom she married August 18, 1962; her step mother, Thelma Baker of Lisbon; a daughter, Kim (Bill) Garlough of Leetonia; a son, Scott (Susan) Gostey of Salem; two sisters, Carrie (Walter) Burns of East Liverpool and Carol (Robert) Claar of Debois, WY; two brothers, James (Rita) Roberts of Carrollton and Russell Henry of Dubois, WY; four grandchildren, David Garlough, Cathy Garlough-Shirey, Billy Garlough and Michelle Wadsworth; and three great grandchildren, Eric Shirey and Kaitlyn and Kimberly Wadsworth.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Pitts.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with the Reverend Thomas Eisweirth officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
