Columbiana - May 8, 2008 - Geraldine E. Mint, 88, of 759 Fairfield Avenue, died at 7:40 p.m. Thursday at the Blossom Nursing Center, Salem.
Mrs. Mint was born February 19, 1920 in Salem, a daughter of Elbert and Elsie VanFossan Brown and had lived in the East Palestine and Columbiana area most of her life. She, along with her husband, had owned and operated the former City Flower Shop in East Palestine, the Serendipity Gift Shop in East Palestine and North Lima and the former Mint Insurance Agency, East Palestine.
She was a member of the East Fairfield United Methodist Church and East Palestine Chapter #381 Order of the Eastern Star.
Her husband, Nathan "Junior" Mint, whom she married July 22, 1949 died November 28, 2002.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Al (Gayle) Lesch of Salem and Mrs. Ken (Karen) Kovach of Canfield; a son, Gary (Rita) Mint of Leetonia; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with the Reverend Michael Namy officiating. Burial will be in Glenview Cemetery, East Palestine. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Monday where East Palestine Chapter will conduct Eastern Star Services at 6:15 p.m.
Memorial tributes may be made to the East Fairfield United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
