Geraldine M. Dorsey

Salem-Geraldine M. Dorsey, 83, passed away at 8:30 pm Sunday, March 30, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Dorsey was born September 27, 1930 in Athens, Ohio , a daughter of George and Mary Stevens Metcalf and had lived in this area most of her life.

Geraldine worked as a housekeeper and had attended Phillips Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, James W. Dorsey, Sr. whom she married October 3, 1948; six daughters, Ella Mae Cibula of Salem, Donnis Hink of Salem, Cheryle Sevek of Lisbon, Pamela McArdle of Akron, Nancy Strabala of Leetonia and Betty McFarland of Salem; a son, James Dorsey, Jr. of Salem; a sister, Mary Ann Yarwood of Boardman and two brothers, Charles Metcalf and Danny Metcalf both of Florida. Also surviving are twenty one grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Geraldine was preceded in death by a son, William “Bill” Dorsey and two brothers, Robert and David Metcalf.

Per her wishes, no services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Woods-Rettig Funeral, Leetonia.
