Salem - George H. Kimble, 83, of Salem, died at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Salem Community Hospital.

Mr. Kimble was born April 20, 1929 in Poland, OH, a son of the late Clarence and Ora Shultz Kimble and had lived in this area all of his life. He had been employed as a truck driver for Anchor Motor Freight for several years, retiring in 1990.

He is survived by the love of his life for the past 22 years, Shirley Shoaff; the children, Sandra Bergeron of La Place, LA, Mary Jane Richardson of Barberton, Karen (Glen) McMillin of Rogers, Gary (Jean) Kimble of Columbiana, David (Phyllis) Kimble of New Middletown, Don Shoaff of Odenton, MD, John Shoaff of Salem, and Paul (Lorrie) Shoaff of Chester, WV; a sister, Doris Hutchison of Gary, IN; three brothers, Kenneth Kimble and Norman (Rosetta) Kimble, both of East Palestine; and Albert (Margaret) LaClair of Hartford, OH; surviving in laws, Mary Kimble, Grace Kimble, Suzanne LaClair, and Gilmer "Buck" Ball, Sr.; 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Mary Louise Ritchie Kimble; a sister, Ethel and brothers, Gerald, Vernon, Porter and James.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine, with the Reverend Carolyn Griffeth officiating. Burial will follow in Petersburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Friday and 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
