George B. Brown

Columbiana - It is with deep sorrow, we announce the passing of George Burl Brown, Jr., age 66, of Columbiana, who passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 14, 2025. He is now in the loving arms of God.

He was born on November 9, 1958, in Salem, a son of Katherine Lucille Stock Parsons and the late George Burl Brown, Sr.

George married Robin Kacenski Brown on September 15, 1979, and together they raised two sons Greg (Dena) Brown of East Palestine, and Ryan (Samantha) Brown of Bucyrus, OH. He was the loving Papa of Logan, Peyton, Jack and Charlie.  He was a devoted son to his mother, Katherine Lucille Parsons of Columbiana and a brother to Robert (Dottie) Brown of Lisbon, Linda Martinez of Youngstown, and Rebecca Bennedict of Salem, as well as two stepbrothers, Bob Parsons of Columbiana, and Alan Parsons of Lisbon

George was always helping and caring for family members.  He was always there when someone needed him and he would drop what he was doing to help anyone in need.

He loved spending time with all his grandchildren.  George loved watching Logan playing sports.  There wasn’t a baseball or football game of Logan’s that he didn’t go to.  George was also an avid OSU football fan.

He was a member of Upper Room Fellowship in Columbiana and retired from Butech Bliss in 2024 where he had worked as a machinist.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Services will be held on Thursday, at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with Greg Aker officiating.

Burial will take place at Columbiana Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in George’s memory to either the Upper Room Fellowship or Columbiana County InStep, both located at 500 Sponseller Rd, Columbiana, OH 44408.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
