Genevieve "Gen" Scanlon
East Palestine, OH-December 16, 2009-Genevieve "Gen" Scanlon, 71, of 131 Claybrook Drive, died at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Community Hospital.
Mrs. Scanlon was born June 24, 1938 in Braddock, PA, a daughter of Andrew and Mary Rebich Milko and had lived in East Palestine the past five years coming from Beaver County, PA.
Gen was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, East Palestine.
She is survived by her husband Richard C. Scanlon whom she married April 27, 1957; two daughters, Cheryl (Richard) Harrington of New Brighton, PA and Diane (Shelley Saver) Scanlon of Baden, PA; two sons, Richard E. (Eleanor) Scanlon of Chippewa, PA and Michael J. Scanlon of Rochester, PA; two sisters, Katherine Koerner of Delmont, PA and Antoinette (Greg) Martinsevic of North Braddock, PA; five grandchildren, Angela, Christina, Richard, Kellie and Eric; and three great grandchildren, Mallory, Bailey and Rain.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Milko.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Reverend Daniel Cipar officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beaver Falls, PA. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine, OH.
