Gene M. Mccoy

Salem- Gene MacArthur McCoy, 69, of Salem Unity Road died suddenly Saturday, February 8, 2014 in Jackson, TN. Mr. McCoy was born May 13, 1944 in Rogers, a son of Edward L. McCoy and Olive V. Black McCoy Miller and had lived in this area all of his life. He was a truck driver for 48 years and was currently driving for Landstar Inway. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3298. Gene loved trucks, old cars, animals and John Wayne. He is survived by his two sons, Shelton (Diane) McCoy and Robert (Susan Miller) McCoy both of Salem; his fiancé, Belinda Ser of Salem; a sister, Alice Hardie of East Palestine; a brother, Charles (Regina) McCoy of East Palestine; and two grandchildren, Rebecca McCoy and Brittany McCoy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Vera E. Joyce, who died in 2010; four sisters, Kathleen Sheerer, Twila Hall, Frances McCoy and Virginia Costello; and two brothers, Howard McCoy and Edward McCoy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
