Gary Mcguckin

Easley, SC - June 7, 2005 - Gary "Doug" McGuckin, age 42, of Easley, SC, formerly of East Palestine, died Tuesday of injuries following an auto accident.

Mr. McGuckin was born September 23, 1962 in Salem, a son of Gary N. and Darla Hughes McGuckin and had lived in South Carolina the past year, coming from East Palestine.

He was a graduate of East Palestine High School and had been employed as a press operator for 27 years, working for various printing companies, including Buckeye Publishing Company, Lisbon.

He is survived by a daughter, Miss Erika M. Pshsniak of Smyrna, GA; his mother, Darla Fanta of California; his father, Gary N. and Gretchen McGuckin of New Waterford; a sister, Dee Johnson of California; three half brothers, Gus McGuckin and Mitch McGuckin, both of New Waterford, and Charlie McGuckin on Stow, OH; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Evelyn Hughes of Columbiana; and a niece, Sarah and a nephew, Matthew.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jim and Esther McGuckin and his maternal grandfather, Dale Hughes.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Mr. Robert Helbeck, Minister officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
