Frederick Richard Schultz Jr., beloved Husband, Father, & Grandfather passed away at 12:20 a.m. October 1, 2017 of complications from a long illness. Fred was a resident of Boardman, OH; formerly born, raised, and raised his family in Leetonia, OH.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Ann Albright Schultz; married for 56 years this past September as well as his three loving sons: Tracy (Cindy) Schultz of South Carolina, Kris Schultz of Boardman, OH, and Richard (Xanthe) Schultz from Wickliffe, OH. Fred was preceded in death by an infant son, Mark Richard Schultz, in 1969.
Fred & Beverly have six, wonderful grandchildren: Amanda Schultz Andruski, Joshua Schultz, Lauren Schultz, & Tyler Schultz all from South Carolina as well as Olivia Schultz & Wyatt Balas of Wickliffe, OH.
Fred was the son of the late Frederick Richard Sr. & Mary Schultz both formerly of Leetonia, OH as well as the brother survived by: Ronald Schultz of Lisbon, OH, Karen (Schultz) Larson of New Springfield, OH & Paul Schultz of Salem, OH. Fred was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Robert Schultz, of Leetonia, OH in 1973.
Fred was a hard-working man for 75 years; often working two or three jobs at the same time to provide a great life for his family. He worked at Columbiana Pump Company starting as a laborer and working his way up into management. Fred also owned and operated his own business: Gas For Less, eventually becoming Ashland Service Station in the 1970’s & 1980’s in Washingtonville, OH. He also was finally able to fulfill his passion for driving long-haul, semi-truck for Schneider National prior to retiring in 2006.
Other than his passion for his family and work ethics; Fred’s other passion was for all professional Cleveland Sports, but, he was a deeply devoted Cleveland Indians Fan first and foremost; a passion that he shared with his late Father, Fred Sr. His greatest wish for the Indians was for them to win a World Series Championship.
Fred spent his retirement taking care of and enjoying his family and beloved pets Misty, Maisy and Max, enjoying his passion of taking great care of his home and lawn, as well as enjoying Cleveland sports.
Fred is and will be dearly missed.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3rd, 2017 at Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, with pastor Cindi Midlick officiating. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to the time of service.
Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
