Leetonia- Frank Joseph Tenzek, age 70, of Leetonia, died on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.
He was born on May 2, 1954, in Salem, a son of the late Joseph and Alberta Henderson Tenzek.
Frank was a graduate of Crestview High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired in 2021 from Columbiana Foundry where he had worked for 40 years. He was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Leetonia where he also belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was a 30-year member of the Joe Williams Post #131 American Legion in Leetonia, the York Drexler Post #5532 VFW in Washingtonville, and the Leetonia Eagles #1496. Frank was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and a talented musician. He enjoyed golfing and also enjoyed mowing the course at Valley Golf Club in Columbiana.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila “Susie” Humpal Tenzek, whom he married on July 6, 1993; four sisters, Frances (Tim) Tolson of Palm Harbor, FL, Veronica (John) O’Neil of Salem, Antoinette (Fred Flory) Tenzek of Salem, and Mary (Garry) Shasteen of Salem. Also surviving are two sisters in-law, Bobbie Cheresne of Salem, and Debra Kay of Camarillo, CA and two brothers in-law, Fredrick (Carol) Humpal of Bellflower, CA, and Diono (Lorraine) Romero of Hemet, CA.
Frank was preceded in death by a brother, George Cheresne.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date.
