Leetonia-Francis Lawrence Macry, 90, of Leetonia, died at 1:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 at Salem Care Center, Circle of Care.

Mr. Macry was born September 23, 1923, in Leetonia, a son of the late Joseph Vincent and Angelina Rance Macry and had been a lifelong resident. He was a member St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Leetonia and he had attended the Lake Mount Church of Christ. He was also a life member of the Joe Williams Post #131 American Legion, Leetonia where he was a past commander and service officer. He was a life member of the FOE #1496, Leetonia and the Italian American Club. He served in the US Army during WWII in both theaters and was a participant in D-Day.

His wife, the former, Leafey Hemphill, whom he married April 29, 1950 died August 6, 2013.

He is survived by four daughters, Toni (Bob) Beeson of Salem, Joan (Steven) Clunen of Leetonia, Donna (Ray) Queen of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Margaret (Jim) Shingleton of Rogers; three sons, David (Pam) Macry of Salem, Joseph Macry of Columbiana and Christopher Macry of Port St. Lucie, FL; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Private services for the immediate family will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home.
