Columbiana December 1, 2005 -Floyd A. Hawkins, age 85, of 5214 Kirk Road died at 8:45 a.m. Thursday at his residence. He was born Feb. 12, 1920 in Peace Valley, son of Ori W. and Edna F. Richardson Hawkins and had lived in Columbiana area all of his life. He was a 1938 graduate of Fairfield Centralized School. He had been the Owner-operator of Hawkins Plumbing and Heating. Mr. Hawkins was a member of the Middleton Friends Meeting, and Honorary Alumnus of Olney Friends School, a Board member of the Walton Retirement Home and served in many capacities as a member of the Society of Friends. He was also a former Ruritan member. Mr. Hawkins served in Alternative Service during WW II. His first wife, Mary Ruth Heald, whom he married May 30, 1941, preceded him in death on December 2, 1993. He is survived by his wife, Rose Alma Haworth whom he married May 31, 1994; two daughters, Miss Nancy Hawkins and Miss Rebecca Hawkins, both of Columbiana; two sons, Jeffrey F. (Eileen) Hawkins of Youngstown and Benjamin K. (Marcia) Hawkins of North Lima; a sister, Mrs. Martha Sauer of Daly City, CA, three sisters in law, Thelma Hawkins of Oceola, Mary Pearl Hawkins of Mt. Dora, FL, and Verna (Heald) Cope of Columbiana; two brothers, Charles E. Hawkins of Rogers and Ellis (Mary Ann) Hawkins of New Waterford, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen and Richard Hawkins. Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Middleton Friends Meeting House where his body will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Middleton Friends Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Middleton Friends Meeting or Hospice of the Valley.
