Negley, OH-September 5, 2006-Florence "Eileen" Minamyer, age 84, of 51078 N. Front Street, died at 3:38 p.m. Tuesday at Salem Community Hospital.
Mrs. Minamyer was born October 5, 1921 in Negley, a daughter of Patrick J. and Mary Viola Mackall Murphy and had lived in this area all of her life.
She was a clerk for the U.S. Post Office in Negley and served as Post Mistress for four years. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Edward L. McGuckin Post #4579 VFW Auxiliary in East Palestine, and the Negley Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She was also a poll worker for the Columbiana County Board of Elections in Middleton Township for over 30 years.
Her husband, Charles R. Minamyer, whom she married March 20, 1939 died December 26, 1998.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Don (Sandy) Robb of East Palestine, Mrs. Bill (Trish) McDade of Negley, Mrs. Chris White of New Castle, PA, Mrs. Rick (Julie) Shafer of Columbiana, Mrs. Rick (Lisa) Smith of East Palestine; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Minamyer of Negley; a son, Joe (Tina) Minamyer of Negley; a sister Mrs. Gerry Uebelacker of Darlington, PA; seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
A son, Bob Minamyer, a son-in-law, Ray White, a brother, Patrick Murphy, two sisters, Phyllis Emmanuel and Kathleen Bobby and a grandson, Billy McDade preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2006 at East Carmel Cemetery with the Reverend Robert Edwards officiating.
