Florence Lucille Kell

East Palestine-Florence Lucille Kell, 97, passed away Saturday morning, July 8, 2017 at the Christian House in East Palestine.

Mrs. Kell was born September 16, 1919 in East Palestine, a daughter of the late James and Alice Hawkes Norton and had lived in this area all of her life.

Florence was a homemaker and member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church.

Her husband, George Kell, whom she married September 11, 1937, died December 30, 1994.

She is survived by her two daughters, Gloria Ward and Sally (James) Tusar both of East Palestine; a son, Lawrence (Vickie) Kell of New Waterford; six grandchildren, Marland Ward, Jr, Debbie Bakera, James Tusar, Jr., Melissa Butcher, Stacie McCurdy and Erin Pflueger; and five great grandchildren, John Bakera, Justin Bakera, Marland Ward III, Heather Newberry and Hobie Butcher.

She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Marland Ward, three sisters, Dorothy Pander, Eva Macklin and Marian Delaney and two brothers, James Norton and Dale Norton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Mark McTrustry officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Monday, July 10, 2017 and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
