East Palestine - January 18, 2007 - Flavia L. Foltz, 97, of 48422 Heck Road, died at 2:05 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center, Columbiana.

Mrs. Foltz was born September 6, 1909 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of William and Hilda O'Hara Legat and had lived here since 1978, coming from Youngstown.

She had been employed as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell for 30 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge of Youngstown where she was pianist for over 42 years, the Dames of Malta of Youngstown, AARP, and Senior Citizens.

Her husband, Frank E. Foltz, whom she married April 30, 1930 died May 7, 1963. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William (Beverly) Lehn of Holly Springs, NC and Mrs. Thomas (Jacqueline) Wray of East Palestine; son, Walter W. Foltz of Orange Beach, Alabama; nine grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Two sisters, Geraldine Cessna and Genevieve Daff and a brother, Charles Foltz are also deceased.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon, Monday, January 22, 2007 at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, with the Reverend Mary Murtha officiating. Burial will be in Belmont Park Cemetery, Youngstown. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Monday. Memorial contributions may be to the Trinity United Methodist Church, New Springfield.
