Columbiana,OH-February 13, 2010-Fedoro P. "Flea" DeTunno, 89, of 315 E. Park Ave. died at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at the Salem Community Hospital.
Mr. DeTunno was born February 5, 1921 in Introdaqua, Italy, a son of Anthony and Lucia Colasante DiTunno and had lived in the Columbiana area most of his life.
Mr. DeTunno was a 1940 graduate of East High School, Youngstown and a graduate of Youngstown State University. He received his Masters Degree from Westminster College. Fedoro was a history and science teacher and guidance counselor for the Columbiana Schools retiring in 1979. Following his retirement he worked part time at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home as a funeral assistant. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana and served in the Army Air Force during World War II.
His wife, the former Marjorie L. Lehman, whom he married June 18, 1955 died April 26, 1994.
He is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Lee) Bowman of Leetonia and Lisa DeTunno of Columbus; a sister, Yolanda Mavrigian of Poland; a brother, Joseph DeTunno of Campbell; and two grandchildren, Adam Bowman and Lisa Bowman.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul DeTunno.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend Scott Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
