Evert J. Morse

Columbiana, OH - -Evert J. Morse, 85, of 1297 Columbiana-Lisbon Road died at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana.

Mr. Morse was born October 27, 1926 in Alliance, a son of Joe and Velma Crist Morse and had lived in this area most of his life. He had been employed as a machinist at NRM in Leetonia and Columbiana for 26 years and had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Morse was a member of the Lake Mount Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lois Burkey, whom he married June 23, 1951; two daughters, Janis (Kim) Guy of North Lima and Terry Breakfield of Columbiana; a son, Paul (Karen) Morse of Rochester, NY; four sisters, Wilma Nesea of Alliance, Evelyn Miller of Louisville, Edith Hunt of FL, and Ester Williamson of Alliance; two brothers, Erlis Morse of Fairborn and Elden Morse of Arizona; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Morse; a great grandson, Gavin Sorrell; three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Mr. Clarence Mansfield, Minister officiating. Burial will be in the Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Sunday.
