Negley - Everett Henry Maynard, 73, of 50474 North Front Street, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Maynard was born April 26, 1936 in Omar, WV, a son of the late Goodman and Georgia Meadows Maynard and had lived in this area since 1977 when he was discharged from the Navy.
He served 20 years in the US Navy retiring in 1977. After his retirement from the Navy, he worked at Milliken Brick Yard in Darlington, PA, Columbiana Floral in Columbiana, and Auger Mining Co. in New Springfield. He was a former member of the George McBane Post #31 American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, the former Bonnie Jean Mackall whom he married December 19, 1957; two daughters, Georgia (Richard) Genick of Indianapolis, IN and Tina (Frank) Beck of Negley; three sisters, Brookie Gulett of Huntington, WV, Nona (Phillip) Farley of Chapmanville, WV and Linda of Texas; a brother, Thomas (Carol) Maynard of Chicago, IL; and one grandson, James Wonner.
He was preceded in death by two sons, David Maynard and Everett Edwards Maynard; three sisters, Oce McCowin, Rosey Sargent, and Clare Workman; and two brothers, James Maynard and Dewey Maynard.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with the Rev. Dr. Barry Walker officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW and American Legion in East Palestine. Burial will be in East Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday.
