NORTH LIMA - Everett "Dale" Miller, 81, and his wife, Lavetta "Tootie" Miller, 79, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at their home in North Lima. Everett died at 12:00 a.m. and Lavetta at 9:12 a.m.; each after a short illness.

Dale was born October 27, 1933 in Canton, OH, a son of the late Cecil and Druzie Gray Miller and had lived in this area most of his life. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member and past commander of the York Drexler Post #5532 VFW of Washingtonville. He had been employed as a truck driver for FJ Eguner, Richfield.

He married Lavetta Rosalie Minor on September 8, 1953. He is survived by four children, Rodney (Val) Miller of East Sparta, Donna (Donnie) Daugherty of Beach City, Connie (Brian) Kress of Massillon, and Dreamia (Jim) Rohm of Austintown; two sisters, Pat (E.J.) Wagster of Santee, SC and Marilyn (Tom) Whitfield of New Springfield; a brother, Jack (Barb) Miller of Brewster; 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Dale was preceded in death by a daughter, Diannia Miller and a sister, Margie Townsend.

Tootie was born September 23, 1935 in Captina, WV, a daughter of the late Curtis and Alberta Castilow Minor and had lived in this area most of her life. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo. Along with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, she is survived by two sisters, Wilma (Don) Adams of Paducah, KY and Brenda (Jeff) Syner of Lake Mohawk.

Besides her daughter, she was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.

Joint funeral services for Mr. and Mrs Miller will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home with the Reverend Joanne Dota officiating. Burial will follow in East Carmel Cemetery, Rogers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday.
