East Palestine - January 24, 2006 - Evelyn M. "Pogo" Pander, age 81, of 132 West Clark Street, died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday at the Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana.
Mrs. Pander was born January 25, 1924 in Ellwood City, PA, a daughter of Thomas and Myrtle Love Wigton and had lived in East Palestine most of her life.
She had been a cook in various local restaurants and had also provided childcare for many families over the years.
She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary of New Waterford and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose Lodge, East Palestine.
Her husband, Lloyd A. Pander, whom she married August 15, 1942 died December 1, 2002.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Donna) Rouse of East Palestine; a granddaughter, Chris Noel and her companion, Terry Chamberlain of Enon Valley, PA; a great granddaughter, Brittany Chamberlain of Enon Valley, PA; a brother, Thomas Wigton, Jr. of New Waterford; and a special friend, Betty Derringer of East Palestine. She will be sadly missed by her many family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Larry Paxson, of the Faith Chapel Fellowship of Salem, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
