Columbiana - Evelyn M. McCoy, 88, of Columbiana, died at 2:56 a.m. Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center.
Evelyn was born October 2, 1922 in Negley, a daughter of the late Fred and Linni Gorby Posey and had lived in this area all of her life. She had been employed as a seamstress at the former Franklin Furniture Company for 30 years. She was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church.
Her husband, Clarence "Tim" McCoy, whom she married May 31, 1963 died July 12, 2010.
She is survived by two sons, Paul (Donna) Miner of Columbiana and Charles (Paula) Miner of The Villages, FL; four grandchildren, Lorri (Bill) Gouldsberry, Barry (Lisa) Miner, Steven (Chrissy) Miner and John (Debbie) Miner; 12 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Jensen; two sisters, Leona Candle and Ellen Ross; a brother, Paul Posey; and a grandson, Paul Miner, Jr.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Bob Noble officiating. Burial will follow at the Columbiana Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
