Columbiana-Evelyn L. Knox, 75, of 253 East State Route 14 passed away peacefully on Monday, September 20, 2010, at 9:57 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Boardman Campus after an extended illness with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Knox was born September 29, 1934 in Lisbon, a daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth Vechione Arnoto.

Evelyn had been a devoted mother and homemaker who loved spending time with family. She had previously attended St. George Catholic Church, Lisbon and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana and the East Liverpool Moose Lodge.

Her husband, Fred Knox, whom she married October 20, 1956, preceded her in death on June 21, 1990.

She is survived by three sons, Dr. Robert Knox of Columbiana, Scott (Linda) Knox of Boardman and Randy Knox of Columbiana; a sister, Mary Kireta of Toronto; and three grandchildren, Courtney, Brianna and Colgan Knox. Also, holding a special place in her heart were, Ashley Adams and Landon Lindsay. She was a loving Aunt and Godmother to numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Arnoto and four brothers, Alfred, George, Tony and Joseph Arnoto.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010 at St. Jude Catholic Church with the Reverend John Jerek officiating. Burial will follow in the Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana and at the church one hour prior to the Mass on Thursday.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff in the St. Elizabeth Boardman Campus for the care and compassion that was given to Evelyn during the past few days.
