Evelyn J. Hughes

Salem - Evelyn J. Hughes, age 94, of Salem, died on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Essex of Salem III in Salem.

She was born on February 12, 1920, in East Palestine, the daughter of the late George and Edna Cragle Jordan.

Evelyn was a member of Grace Church, Columbiana and had worked as a Payroll Clerk for Insul Company, East Palestine for ten years.

Her husband, Thomas Dale Hughes, whom she married on September 20, 1940, preceded her in death on February 4, 1990.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Catherine Buhn of New Waterford and Darla Kay Fanta of Prescott Valley, AZ and a son, Dale "Skip" Hughes of East Palestine. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Jordan and two grandsons.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.

Burial will be at the Glenview Cemetery, East Palestine.
