Eunice A. Hawkins

Columbiana - February 21, 2006 - Eunice A. Hawkins, age 97, of 331 West Salem Street, formerly of New Waterford, died at 7:28 a.m. Tuesday at the Salem Community Hospital.

Mrs. Hawkins was born February 27, 1908 in East Palestine, a daughter of Edwin and Nellie Olloman Firth and had lived in this area all of her life.

She had been employed as a postal clerk at the New Waterford Post Office for 23 years, retiring in 1970. She was a member of the New Waterford United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Her husband, Paul M. "Boots" Hawkins died June 28, 1999. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Greta) Rupert of New Waterford; a son, Wynn F. Hawkins of Canfield; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Pastor Kenneth Rambo officiating. Burial will follow in New Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
