Eugene M. Mancuso, age 93, passed away on July 6, 2010 in Florida where he resided for the last eight years with his daughter and her husband.

He was born July 11, 1916 in Leetonia, Ohio to Petro and Rosaria Mancuso.

Mr. Mancuso served in the United States Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart in the Pacific Campaign.

He worked as a janitor for 10 years at Crestview High School before retiring at the age of 75. Previously, he and his wife, Wilma, owned and operated Wilma and Gene's Beauty Shop in Leetonia, Columbiana, and New Waterford.

Eugene was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, the former, Wilma Jean Fiets and a daughter, Theresa Marie Mancuso.

Survivors include a brother, Dominic Mancuso of Salem; a son, Mike Mancuso of Leetonia; two daughters, Debra Selby of Columbiana and Shirley Rodrigues of Lake Worth, Florida; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010, at the Mount Calvary Cemetery Chapel, Leetonia at 10:00 a.m. with Sister Joan Franklin officiating. After the memorial, friends and family are invited to Debra Selby's home at 2296 Camelot Drive, Columbiana for a celebration of Eugene's life.

Arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
