Columbiana - December 10, 2008 - Eugene Walter Hanna, 93 of 516 S. Main Street died Wednesday at his residence.
Mr. Hanna was born September 11, 1915 in New Springfield, Ohio the son of Walter R. and Mary Siferd Hanna. He came to Columbiana in 1938 and was a life long member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church.
He retired in 1977 after 35 years as a machinist at the former National Rubber Machine Company in Columbiana.
His wife of 47 years, Marian Ingalls Hanna, died in 1980.
He leaves three children, Peggy (Donald) Oberholtzer, David (Jean) Hanna, all of Columbiana and Lee (Anna) Hanna, of California, Kentucky; sisters Martha Blosser, Columbiana and Edith (Rodman) Franklin of Salem; five grandchildren and eight great grand children.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Hanna was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Lou Montgomery, three brothers, C. Winfield, Clayton and Paul Hanna, two sisters Hazel Chambers and Esther Zarlingo and two great grandsons Kyle Oberholtzer and Darren David Hanna.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Reverend David H. Conrad officiating. Burial will be in the Columbiana Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512.
