Ethel M. Shetler

Enon Valley - March 6, 2009 - Ethel M. Shetler, 86, of 204 Little Beaver Road, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:30 a.m. Friday at her home.

Ethel was born March 11, 1922 in Salem, a daughter of the late Floyd and Minnie Burgham Brain.

She was a homemaker and member of Berachah Chapel, Darlington, PA, Family Campers and Hikers and Good Sam Camping Club. Ethel had spent 35 winters in Florida and attended Victory Christian Center while in Florida. She loved to play bingo, was an avid Steelers fan and loved her family.

She is survived by her husband, Roy N. Shetler, whom she married in 1947; two daughters, Diane Sobona of Enon Valley, PA and Darlene (Les) Unger of Washingtonville, OH; five sons, Richard Shetler of Columbiana, OH, Dennis (Sherry) Shetler of East Palestine, OH, Michael (Carol) Shetler of New Waterford, OH, Samuel Shetler of Washingtonville, OH and Robert Shetler of Salem, OH; a sister, Ruth (Gene) Morrow of Washingtonville, OH; fourteen grandchildren, Justin Shetler, Travis Sobona, Jolyn Shetler, Lee Shetler, Scott Shetler, Nathan Unger, Josh Unger, Shawn Unger, Wendy Shetler, Nicole Shetler, Danelle Hutton, Gary Hutton, Sara Shetler and Ashley Shetler; and nine great grandchildren.

A son, Paul Shetler; a sister, Irene Ranft; and three brothers, Elmer Fife, Ralph Brain and Floyd Brain, Jr. preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Reverend Martin Miller officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford, OH. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
