Ethel Jane Gibson

East Palestine, February 22, 2004, Ethel Jane Gibson, age 85, of 101 West Clark Street, died at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Salem Community Hospital following a short illness.

Mrs. Gibson was born April 24, 1918 in East Palestine, a daughter of Robert and Sarah Mankin Gorby and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Nazarene of East Palestine and the Widows Club of the church.

Her husband, Glenn F. Gibson, whom she married January 23, 1939 died November 11, 1990.

She is survived by a son, Robert Gibson of Marlton, NJ; a sister, Dorothy Musser of East Palestine; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

A daughter, Loretta Kitchen and two sisters, Margaret Selzer and Ruth Flowers are also deceased. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Brown, of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial tributes may be made to the Church of the Nazarene of East Palestine.
