Ethel M. Clunk, age 93, of Columbiana, died Monday afternoon in the Parkside Heath Care Center, Columbiana, where she had resided since 2002.

Mrs. Clunk was born in Lisbon, Ohio on February 26, 1913, the daughter of Adolph and Mary Bott Heim. She graduated from Kent State University in 1941 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in elementary education and taught second and third grades in Lisbon for 22 years. She then taught forth grade in Columbiana for 17 years, retiring in 1973.

She was a member of the National Education Association, the Ohio Education Association, Columbiana County Retired Teachers and past president of both the Lisbon Teacher's Association and the Columbiana Teacher's Association. She was a 50 year member and past president of Alpha Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and a 60 year member and past matron of Iva Chapter #311, Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Columbiana and had taught Sunday School classes at the Lisbon Presbyterian church for 17 years. She also taught Vacation Bible School the first year it was organized in Lisbon.

Her husband, Jack W. Clunk, whom she married on December 24, 1952, preceded her in death on March 23, 1994.

She is survived by a niece, Mary Lynn Conn, of Salem and three grandnieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Edward, Herbert and Charles Heim.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel at Columbiana Cemetery with Clarence Mansfield, Minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to either the children's department of The Lepper Library in Lisbon or the Columbiana Public Library.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana.
