Leetonia- Ethel Mae Bricker, age 91, of Leetonia, died on Monday, February 15, 2016 at her home.
She was born on December 30, 1924 in Washingtonville, a daughter of the late Howard and Ester Shepard Stouffer, Sr.
Ethel was a homemaker and was a lifetime area resident. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Washingtonville, where she was extremely active in all aspects of her church including serving as past treasurer. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 131, Leetonia, where she served as past president and was very active with the Buckeye Girls State. Ethel was also a past member of the Salem Motorcycle Club where she served as treasurer and secretary. She enjoyed word search puzzles and bowling. She was a member of the Salem Area Bowlers Association and the 300 Club. Ethel will best be remembered as a very generous woman who always put others before herself.
Her husband, Clarence M. Bricker, whom she married on February 11, 1946, preceded her in death on December 27, 1995.
She is survived by her beloved son, Clarence “Buddy” Bricker of Leetonia.
Ethel was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Heaton, Minnie Hall and Ruth Deffenbaugh and by a brother, Howard Stouffer, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Beloit.
