Esther Mildred Shearer

New Waterford November 26, 2004 - Esther Mildred Shearer, age 87, formerly of SR 7 and Raley Road, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday in the St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center.

She was born Feb. 16, 1917 in Center Twp., daughter of Arthur and Virginia Cope Hassler and had lived in the area all of her life.

Mrs. Shearer was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and TOPS at Lisbon.

She was preceded in death March 25, 1969 by her husband, Kenneth Robert Shearer whom she married January 3, 1942.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Carol) Craig of Canfield and Mrs. Russell (Ruth Ann) Thompson of Lake Panasoffkee, FL; a son, Richard William Shearer of New Waterford; a sister, Mrs. Mary Harmon of Leetonia; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Kenneth Shearer; three sisters, Gladys Kolarik, Betty Harmon and Rachael Hassler; two brothers, James and Francis Hassler.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home with the Rev. William O. Wilkins officiating.

Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
