Ernest Authur Dechellis

Austintown - July 8, 2008 - Ernest Arthur DeChellis, 81, of Norquest Boulevard died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in the Assumption Nursing Home, North Lima.

He was born December 4, 1926 in Youngstown, son of Salvatore and Vena DiRenzo DeChellis and had lived in Austintown since 1955 coming from Youngstown.

Ernest owned and operated DeChellis Construction as a general contractor, building among other homes and commercial buildings the St. Jude Church in Columbiana and the Chapel at Resurrection Cemetery. He was a member of the St. Joseph Parish Austintown, the Knights of Columbus and the Home Builders Association of Mahoning County.

His wife, the former Rosemarie Catherine Ferraro, whom he married May 28, 1949, died, January 12, 2001. He was also preceded by a sister, Rachael Swabik and three brothers, Louis, Jacob, and Rocco DeChellis.

Ernest is survived by a daughter, Diane Limpach of Canfield; two sons, Dr. Ernest (Patricia) DeChellis of Cuyahoga Falls and Dr. Donald (Delaine) DeChellis of North Lima; a sister Ann DeChellis of Austintown; as well as, four grandchildren.

The Reverend John Trimbur will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Friday, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Austintown. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
