Emma "Pat" Priscilla Pennell
Leetonia-Emma “Pat” Priscilla Pennell, 90, went home to be with her Lord at 9:05 am Monday, May 30, 2016 at Salem Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Pennell was born May 22, 1926 in Kittanning, PA, a daughter of the late Frank H. and Carrie Ellan Kelly Roberts. Her parents both died when she was six and she was raised by her Aunt Sue and Uncle George Pettigrew in this area.
Pat was a 1945 graduate of David Anderson High School in Lisbon. Pat started working when she was nine at Sweeney’s Grocery Store in Lisbon. Over the years she had worked as a waitress at the Wick Hotel, and had also worked for R Thomas Pottery. She was a real estate agent for Coman’s Real Estate, and worked for Ballonoff’s in Columbiana. Pat was then a spot welder for General Motors in Lordstown for 18 ½ years retiring in 1990.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lisbon, a 60 year member of the Lisbon Grange and a member of the Home Extension. She loved gardening, sewing and traveling especially to her daughter’s in Lakeland, FL.
She will be sadly missed by all who loved her, especially her husband, Carl D. Pennell, whom she married June 29, 1947, three daughters, Susan Chuey of Salem, Yvonne (Jay) Mahon of Leetonia and Joan (Ken) Sutton of Lakeland, FL; four grandchildren, Heather Briceland, Alicia (J.T.) Thompson, Jason Chuey and Brandon Mahon; five great grandchildren, C.J., Austin, Brittany, Zachary and Olivia; a step grandson, Jake; and a great great granddaughter, Jocelynn.
She was preceded in death by her son in law, Jeffrey Chuey; three sisters, Mary Pettigrew, Ann Ripley and Sadie Donnalley and eight brothers, Thomas, David, Frank, William, James, Henry, Robert Roberts and an infant sibling.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:30 pm Sunday, June 19, 2016 at her home, 5230 State Route 45 Leetonia with Reverend Pam Gable officiating and a picnic will follow.
