Emma L. Malahy

Leetonia, Emma L. Malahy, age 80, formerly of Leetonia, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 2004 at the Life Care Center of Sarasota in Sarasota, Florida.

Mrs. Malahy was born December 7, 1923 in Leetonia, a daughter of Joseph and Angeline Salvino Guido and had been a lifelong resident of Leetonia until moving to Florida in 2001 to be with her daughter. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia.

Her husband, John P. Malahy, Sr. whom she married December 13, 1945 died November 12, 1993.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Sharon) Jones of University Park, FL; a sister, Mrs. Ange Ieropoli of Lisbon; and two grandsons, Corey Jones of Sylvania and Troy Jones of Akron.

A son, John P. Malahy, Jr.; a sister, Catherine Calabrese; and four brothers, Paul Guido, Carmen Guido, Louis Guido and Frank Guido are also deceased.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Reverend John Trimbur officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Leetonia. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association.
