East Palestine June 25, 2005 -Elsie Simpson, age 87, of 126 Claybrook died at 8:55 p.m. Saturday in the Medical Center of Beaver County.
She was born Jan. 13, 1918 in Mercer PA, daughter of Ernest and Minnie Cartlidge Triner.
She was a longtime resident of East Palestine and formerly of South Beaver Township PA.
She had been Co-owner of the former Simpson's Silica Sand at Koppel PA.
She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, the Wesley Wed Sunday School Class, the East Palestine Senior Citizens and was a former member of the Zelienople Historical Society.
Her husband, Allan W. Simpson whom she married February 9, 1937, preceded her in death January 4, 1983.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marion) Crawford of North Sewickley Township, PA and Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Tilbrook of East Palestine; a son, Dennis W. Simpson of Big Beaver, PA; three sisters, Mrs. Esther Johnson of Yulee, FL, Mrs. Mae Murray of Washington, PA and Mrs. Hazel O'Donnell of Waynesburg, PA; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Three sisters, Dorothy Gilbert and twins, Irene and Eileen Triner and a brother, Ernest Triner, preceded her in death.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald C. Spore and Rev. Dr. John K. Smith, officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
