Elsie A. Mcclain

Darlington, PA - January 12, 2006 - Elsie A. McClain, age 90, of Darlington, PA, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Friendship Ridge Nursing Home, Beaver, PA.

Mrs. McClain was born May 21, 1915 in Middleton Twp. Columbiana County, Ohio, a daughter of Lot and Myrtle Gorby Mankin and had lived in this area all of her life.

She had been employed as a cafeteria worker for the Blackhawk School District for 25 years, retiring in 1983.

Her husband, Lawrence E. McClain, whom she married October 12, 1935 died September 25, 1953.

She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie A. Tress of Darlington, PA; a daughter in law, Rebecca McClain of Darlington, PA; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

A son, L. Eugene McClain and 7 sisters and 6 brothers are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, Ohio with Father Paul Savage officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday.
