Ellen V. Hocanson

Columbiana - March 24, 2007 - Ellen V. Hocanson, 79, of 104 Park Court, died Saturday at 11:41 p.m. at the Cleveland Clinic.

Mrs. Hocanson was born January 26, 1928 in Cadiz, OH, a daughter of Charles and Edna Carmichael Kirkpatrick and had lived in Columbiana since 1999, coming from Darlington, PA.

She had been employed as a licensed practical nurse at The Medical Center and the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hocanson; four sisters, Mary J. Jones, Sarah Householder, Charlotte Powers, and Jeannette Kendrew; and five brothers, Daniel O'Hara, Raymond O'Hara, Robert Kirkpatrick, Bernard Kirkpatrick, and Charles Kirkpatrick.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Lynn) Currie of St. Augustine, FL; a stepson, Rick Hocanson of Rochester, PA; a brother, Thomas Kirkpatrick of Beaver Falls, PA; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours or services. Private burial will be in the Beaver Falls Cemetery, Beaver Falls, PA.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, OH.
