East Palestine, OH-February 9, 2006-Elizabeth "Betty" Manley, age 77, of 540 E. Martin Street died at 9:05 p.m. Thursday at her home following a short illness.
Mrs. Manley was born September 12, 1928 in Unity, OH a daughter of Jesse C. and Anna F. Landsberger Wilson and had lived in this area all of her life.
She was a 1946 graduate of Mount Jackson High School and received a certificate in Labor Relations from The Ohio State University. She was a saw operator for many years for Tube Tech in East Palestine retiring in 1991. She was past president and member of the East Palestine Area Historical Society where she was currently vice president. She was also involved with Social Concerns.
Her husband, Charles "Tom" Manley, whom she married September 19, 1953 died May 4, 1978.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Donna L. and Michael Greaves of East Palestine; her sister, Mary Jane (Raymond) Bentfeld of New Springfield; two brothers, Harvey K. (Ann) Wilson of New Springfield and Robert Wilson; four grandchildren, Danielle and Paul Seidner and Scott and Matthew Greaves; and three great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Auston and Kendra.
Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine. A private service and burial will take place on Monday.
