East Palestine - January 4, 2005 - Eleanor J. Wilhelm, age 86, of 940 North Market Street died at 8:22 a.m. Tuesday in the Skilled Nursing Center at Salem Community Hospital, where she had been a patient for two weeks.

She was born May 2, 1918 in Rochester PA., daughter of Roy Arthur and Margaret J. Powell Shanor.

Mrs. Wilhelm had lived in East Palestine for 68 years coming from Rochester PA.

She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana and it's Faith Circle. She was past president and a member of the East Palestine Garden Club and was an accomplished flower arranger.

Her husband, Delmar Arthur Wilhelm whom she married January 24, 1939, preceded her in death on July 6, 1983.

Mrs. Wilhelm is survived by two daughters, Rita M. Hull of Salem and Mrs. Mark (Joan H.) Beight of East Palestine; a son, Donald B. Wilhelm of Wake Forest NC; eight grandchildren, Lynn Wilhelm, Janet Schultz and Melinda Gray, all of North Carolina, Bryan Hull of Negley, Cheryl Knoling of Leetonia, Debbie D'Errico of Medina, David Bozick of Stow and Summer Maffee of East Palestine; and 13 great grandchildren.

A daughter, Carol K. Bozick; a sister, Hazel Sheperd; two half sisters, Bea Stuck and Margaret Healy, preceded her in death.

The Rev. W. David H. Conrad will conduct a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9 at Jerusalem Luther Church, where her family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests contributions to Jerusalem Lutheran Church.
