New Waterford-October 14, 2011-Eleanor Jean Bowersock, 77, of New Waterford, died at 9:57 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Boardman Campus, following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Bowersock was born January 16, 1934 in Monaca, PA, a daughter of George and Julia Killian Kovach and had lived in this area most of her life.
Eleanor was a prep cook for various restaurants in the area and a homemaker. She was a member of Lake Mount Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Homer Howard Bowersock, whom she married July 5, 1954; five daughters, Colleen (John) Peluso of Columbiana, Eileen (Paul) Ramponi and Laureen (Michael) Alderman all of New Waterford, Bonnie (John) Winland of Warren and Holly (Ken) Sechrist of Stow; a sister, Catherine Kushnereit of Aliquippa; a brother, Carl (Thelma) Kovach of Danville, KY; and two grandchildren, John M. Peluso of Laurinburg, NC and Kristen Peluso of Columbiana. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Arthurs and a brother, George Kovach.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2011 at Lake Mount Church of Christ, New Waterford.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
