Edwin T. Unger

Lisbon - June 8, 2007 - Edwin T. Unger, 91, of 33219 Speidel Road, formerly of Columbiana, died at 7:40 p.m. Friday at his home.

Mr. Unger was born May 13, 1916 in New Springfield, a son of Odeth and Maude Arkwright Unger and had lived here two years, coming from Columbiana. He served in the US Army during WWII. He had been employed as a custodian for the Columbiana Public Schools for 36 years, retiring in 1985.

His wife, the former Viola K. Barkley, whom he married April 1, 1939 died December 13, 1998.

He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. William (Patricia) Pisarsky of Sandusky, Mrs. Andrew (Barbara) Kidd of Columbiana, Marilyn Burbick of East Liverpool, Bonnie Daniel of Lisbon, Mrs. Kenneth (Debbie) Suggett of Sebring, and Mrs. Ronald (Sherry) Campbell of Lisbon; three sons, Edwin L. Unger of Columbiana, Gerald Unger of Columbiana, and Larry Unger of French Creek, WV; a brother, Dwight Unger of Gallipolis, OH; 35 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.

A son, Gary Unger is also deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Pastor Gary Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. on Monday.
