LEETONIA- Edwin E. Geary, 74, of Leetonia, died Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the Salem Regional Medical Center.
Ed was born October 19, 1940 in Zanesville, OH, a son of the late Loren Geary and Ruby Phelps Geary Enos. He was the owner and operator of Geary's Auto and Towing for 51 years where he spent most of his time. He especially enjoyed early morning breakfast with "The Guys".
He was a member of Leetonia Lodge #401 F.&A.M. and the Salem Motorcycle Club. Ed was an avid Nascar Fan where he enjoyed several races each year in his own converted 1967 Greyhound bus. In 2007 he made his lifetime dream of traveling coast to coast on the Nascar circuit. He and his wife Bonnie were members of the Converted Coach Owner Club where they traveled and enjoyed many rallies.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Bonnie Bingham Geary; a daughter, Connie (Dick) Altomare; three sons, Douglas (Carrie) Geary, Darryl (Amy) Geary, and Danny (Theresa) Geary; a step daughter, Kim (Lee) Chestnut; a step son, Paul Calabrese; four sisters, Faye (Wes) Crawford, Neva (Lester) Wilson, Anita (Mike) Flenz, and June Henthorne; and 12 grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Edgar Enos and a step grand daughter, Hayley Calabrese.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the services on Friday. Leetonia Lodge will conduct Masonic Services Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
