East Palestine-Edward J. Rouse, 69, of Clark St. passed away Thursday afternoon, January 19, 2017 at Salem Regional Medical Center following a long illness.
Mr. Rouse was born February 4, 1947 in Salem, a son of the late Ronald J. and Pauline Long Rouse and had lived in this area all of his life.
Ed served as a proud veteran with the US Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War. He then worked as a truck driver and also helped the Auxiliary Police Department for East Palestine and Leetonia. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Washingtonville York Drexler Post #5532 VFW.
He is survived by his wife, the former Donna Pander, whom he married June 2, 1973; a daughter, Chris (Chuck McNeal) Noel of East Palestine; a granddaughter, Brittany Chamberlin of East Palestine; a sister, Marie (Tom) Russell of Leetonia; two brothers, Tom (Kathy) Rouse of Salem and Ron (Donna) Rouse of Leetonia; and many nieces and nephews he adored.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia “Skip” DiBlasio.
Friends will be received from 4-6 pm Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home. A Time of Sharing will follow at 6:00 pm. Military honors will be accorded following the time of sharing.
