Edward F. Mccall

New Waterford January 8, 2007 -Edward F. McCall, age 73, of 4766 SR 7 died at 4:05 a.m. Monday at his son's home, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born May 1, 1933 in East Liverpool, son of Francis E. McCall and Verna Congrove and had lived in New Waterford all of his life.

Mr. McCall had been a buyer for the former NRM at Columbiana for 29 years and then a horse trainer at Waterford Park for ten years.

He was a member of the East Fairfield United Methodist Church and enjoyed golf, fishing, football & baseball.

He served the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

His wife, the former Frances E. Harroff whom he married June 7, 1953, died October 27, 1996 Surviving are a daughter, Ms Rebecca Simpson of New Waterford; his companion Lois J. Zarnosky; two sons, Randy (Eileen) McCall of Columbiana and Bryan McCall of New Waterford; two sisters, Mrs. John (Carole) Mellinger of Leetonia and Mrs. Floyd (Phyllis) Webber of Lisbon; a brother, Ronald (Millie) Congrove of Andover; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Three sons, Matthew, Bruce and David McCall, preceded him in death.

The Reverend Charles Ready will conduct his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call 5-8 Wednesday at the funeral home.
