Washingtonville - January 13, 2006 - Edward E. Ehrenberg, age 66, of 485 Union Street, died at 8:54 am Friday in the Salem Community Hospital.
Mr. Ehrenberg was born December 5, 1939 in New Brighton, PA, a son of Albert and Rose Banyas Ehrenberg and had lived in this area most of his life. He served in the US Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He had been employed as a steelworker at Wheeling Pittburgh Steel in Canfield for 35 years, retiring in 1998. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia and had also served on the Washingtonville Police Department and also as Chief of Police for several years. He had also served on the Washingtonville Council for several years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jane A. Fife, whom he married September 29, 1960; his mother, Rose Cox of Canfield; a daughter, Mrs. Randy (Dana) Balevre of Washingtonville; a son, Kevin (Cindy) Ehrenberg of Salem; three half brothers and five half sisters; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two half brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with the Reverend Edward Brienz officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9-11 am on Monday where the St. Patrick's Rosary Group will lead the Rosary at 8:45 a.m. on Monday.
