North Lima - Edna D. Swagger, 82, of North Lima, passed away Wednesday morning, December 7, 2016 at her home which she made with her daughter, Lori.

Mrs. Swagger was born March 2, 1934 in East Palestine, a daughter of the late Hubert and Grace McCoy Griffith and had lived in this area and New Springfield all of her life.

At one time, Edna owned and operated a restaurant in North Lima. She was also a lead driver escort for oversize truck loads but her greatest joy was caring for her large family.

Her husband , William R. Swagger, whom she married June 7, 1952, died February 28, 1999.

She is survived by her three daughters, Lori (Troy) Rinehart of North Lima, Dala (Ronald) Schneider of Leetonia, and Kathy Swagger of Canfield; a son, Robert Swagger of PA; a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Swagger; her loving grandchildren, Nicole, Erica, Carly, Emily, Sabrina, Samantha, William, and Lacey; and a great granddaughter, Taylor. She also leaves a dear friend and caregiver, Maggie Hatch. She was also preceded in death by four sons, William, Roy, Paul and James Swagger and all of her siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Friday, December 9, 2016 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
